Basic Manners: All breeds, all ages. Simply put, it is the “please” and “thank you” of dog training. Training includes “sit”, “down”, “come”, walking on a loose leash, “wait”, and “stay”. Depending on the age of the dog, topics like house training, correct socialization, polite greetings are introduced. Owner needs, family dynamics, dwelling considerations and previous experiences are discussed. $70/hour in HRM; Suggested: 3 – 6 Sessions.

Loose leash walking: If you are the one being taken for a walk, this program is what you need! You start with the basics of what and how. Next, you and your dog will learn how to walk calmly through a variety of situations, including other people and dogs. $70/hour in HRM Suggested: 2 sessions minimum

Reliable recall: 100% reliability is the goal! To achieve this, you and your dog will learn the basics and then gradually build in distractions, indoors and outdoors. Learning the leave it and give commands are also included for added safety and reliability. $70/hour in HRM Suggested: 2 sessions minimum

Dog aggression: Does your peace loving dog turn into Cujo the moment another dog approaches? Does she lunge, bark, pull or growl? Does he cower in fear behind you? It looks scary and makes everybody uncomfortable. Together, we help manage this through short term solutions and improvements with long term goals. Because there are many different reasons for this behavior, there are also many different solutions! $70/hour in HRM Suggested: 3 – 4 sessions minimum

Puppy Prep: What to do BEFORE you bring your new puppy home and what to do AFTER you bring your new puppy home. This covers everything from equipment (leashes, toys, crates, etc.) to establishing a safe and understandable environment for you and your new family member. $70/hour in HRM Suggested: 1 session prior to arrival; 1 – 2 sessions after arrival.

Adoption/Rescued Dogs: Nobody gives up a perfectly good dog – well hardly ever. Adopting a dog is a wonderful and caring action. Yet many of these dogs have been mis-managed, under socialized, even abused. You will be taught how to understand, identify, and work with a dog and rebuild that beautiful bond of trust, safety and joy. $70/hour in HRM Suggested: 1 – 5 sessions

Social Skills: Dogs (and kids) have to learn how to play nice – whether at the park or on a walk! Understanding your dog’s body language and signals from the other dogs is an important way to ensure they are having fun. Also included are the proper greeting techniques between dog to dog and dog to people. $70/hour in HRM Suggested: 1 – 2 sessions.

Games & Tricks: Is your dog constantly getting into mischief? Is your dog a quick learner? It’s because they are smart! You can channel all that energy into fun and positive outlets. These session are full of fun! Learn games like “52 pick up” and “critter du jour”. Learn tricks like say your prayers or close the door! The list is unending and so is the fun. $70/hour in HRM Suggested: As many sessions as you like!

Canine Good Neighbour/Service Dog & Therapy Dog training: Are you preparing your dog for a CGN designation? Working towards a therapy certification? After assessing the strengths and areas for improvement, we work towards a therapy certification. This will be based on the new service dog legislation (June 27, 2018). $70/hour in HRM Suggested: Individually determined.
